ABOUT ME
With a passion for Printmaking, Ramona Lapsley is a artist in Manitou Springs, CO. As early as 2nd grade she had a high interest in drawing, painting, & crafting. With the support & encouragement of family & teachers she was able to take art classes to pursue a variety of interests. This led to her career as a art teacher. The love of sharing art with students seemed like the best fit for a life of service. Now she pursues her artwork on a full-time basis while still teaching printmaking workshops. Her studio is in the Manitou Art Center at the foot of Pike’s Peak.
Her artwork is a response to the land & natural world. Her imagery is primarily Colorado sport fish, local birds, garden botanicals & the western landscape. With a view of the Garden of the Gods, & a trailhead right outside her door, she does not have to go far to find inspiration. One series of prints depicts large sandstone rock formations found in the Southwest. Her most recent works are Colorado landscapes including some of her favorite places.
